DAVID BEATS GOLIATH AGAIN

The LiftVest was rated the Most Innovative New Product by attendees at the 2006 Safe Patient Handling and Movement Conference in Clearwater Florida . This conference, sponsored by OSHA and the VA , is the most prestigious conference for this activity n the U.S.-- and perhaps the entire world. Every major National and International manufacturer of patient moving and lifting equipment demonstrated their newest and most technical products. Every major hospital in the U.S. attended in order to keep up with the newest developments.

The theme of the conference was "No Lift Policy" and the concentration of high tech and expensive equipment was truly mind-boggling.

However, when the OT's, PT's, nurses and ergonomists saw the demonstration, all they could say was, " Thank the Lord for a simple solution to our daily transfer problems."

The LiftVest is a stylish denim vest, with an attached webbing harness providing many secure handholds for safe, comfortable and dignified transfers. By spreading the pressure over the entire torso it feels like a gentle hug.

When used for walking aid, the LiftVest provides full upper and lower torso control, so that -- unlike the gait belt-- if the client starts to fall the LiftVest will let the caregiver control the fall without slipping.

The attendees paid rapt attention as Joe and any willing participant performed a 2-person"dead weight" lift with Cynthia, which was comfortable and secure for everyone.

The attendees told Cynthia and Joe that no matter how much high tech equipment they had, there were going to be times when they had to do manual transfers, ambulating or repositioning. By the way -- the LiftVest can also be used to pick someone off the floor.

As a result, when it came time for the attendees to vote for the "most innovative new product," the simple, inexpensive LiftVest won by a margin of over three to one.
